GEORGE J. PARDOS, M.D.

George J. Pardos, M.D., medical director and surgeon of Omni Eye Specialists, P.C. received his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine. He completed his residency training in ophthalmology at the Barnes Hospital of Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. After completing residency, he received an additional year of training in corneal surgery (fellowship) at the University of Iowa in Iowa City.

Upon completion of his fellowship, Dr. Pardos became an assistant professor of ophthalmology at Mt. Sinai Medical School at the City University of New York. While in New York, he was the medical director of New York's largest eye bank and a member of the advisory board of the National Eye Bank Association.

He is board certified and a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a member of the Castroviejo Society, which is composed solely of corneal surgeons, as well as various other medical societies.

Dr. Pardos is a recognized expert in the field of cataract, refractive and corneal surgery and disease. He has presented numerous medical papers and has authored several published reports in major ophthalmic journals.

ROBERT E. PROUTY, O.D.

Dr. Prouty graduated from Pacific University and completed his fellowship training in “Hospital-based Optometry and Geriatrics” at American Lake V.A. Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. While at American Lake VAMC, he received training in advanced medical management and diagnostic techniques. Prior to Omni, Dr. Prouty was in private practice and served as a consultant at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center, Department of Surgery. Dr. Prouty is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Colorado Optometric Association (COA). He was selected as the COA's "Young Optometrist of the Year" in 1988 and as COA's "Optometrist of the Year" in 2004. Dr. Prouty is a Fellow in the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO), is a founding member of the Optometric Glaucoma Society (OGS) and serves on the OGS executive committee. He is the director of the University of Houston’s “Residency in Ocular Disease” at Omni while holding positions at several universities as an adjunct professor. He is a recognized national lecturer and has published several articles in national and international publications.

LISA A. JORDAN, O.D.

Dr. Jordan received her undergraduate degree in chemistry from Baylor University in Texas. Under a national grant, she researched newly formulated chemical compounds in the area of organic chemistry. While attending the University of Houston College of Optometry, she received numerous clinical honors and recognitions in family practice, pediatrics, low vision, contact lens, and ocular disease. Also involved in a National Institute of Health sponsored research project, she presented at an American Academy of Optometry meeting.

After graduating from the University of Houston College of Optometry, Dr. Jordan completed a residency in ocular disease at Omni Eye Specialists, Denver. Following this, she completed a fellowship in refractive surgery at Colorado Laser Surgeons, Denver.

Dr. Jordan lectures on various topics in ocular disease and refractive surgery. She is also an adjunct professor of several optometry schools throughout the nation, and is a member of the Colorado Optometric Association and American Optometric Association. Her interests include several outdoor activities such as hiking and camping.

JASON J. WANG, M.D.

Jason J. Wang, M.D., eye physician and surgeon of Omni Eye Specialists, P.C., received his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University. He received his medical training and medical degree from the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine. He obtained his residency training in ophthalmology at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary in Chicago. After residency, he obtained subspecialty training in Cornea Transplantation and LASIK Refractive Surgery by completing a fellowship program at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.

Dr. Wang has contributed to the field of corneal disease and refractive surgery with scientific publications in the medical literature and most recently by presenting his work at a national ophthalmic meeting for which Dr. Wang garnered “Best Paper of Session” distinction. During medical school and residency, he participated in research involving retinal pigment epithelial transplantation and corneal epithelial stem cell survival. Dr. Wang is “Board Certified” by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery and fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Wang strives to keep abreast of the latest advances in cataract, corneal, and refractive surgery. He is committed to providing patients the very best in medical and surgical care with the most up-to-date surgical techniques using only the latest state-of-the-art equipment provided at Omni Eye Specialists and Colorado Laser Surgeons.

GARY BELEN, M.D.

Gary A. Belen, M.D., Director of Glaucoma Services of Omni Eye Specialists, P.C. received his undergraduate degree from The University of Chicago and his medical degree from the University of Missouri - Kansas City. After medical school, he finished a one-year preliminary medicine internship at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, California, and then completed his residency training in ophthalmology at Maryland General Hospital in Baltimore, where he also served as Chief Resident during his final year of residency. After residency, he received an additional year of subspecialty training by completing a glaucoma fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

Dr. Belen is board certified in ophthalmology, and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He has both participated in and presented his ocular research through Maryland General Hospital and the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He has lectured for numerous professional continuing medical education courses.

Dr. Belen specializes in the medical, laser, and surgical treatment of glaucoma. He also performs no-stitch clear corneal cataract surgery. He is committed to knowing the latest treatments for both glaucoma and cataracts, so that he may continue to provide only the best care for his patients.

When out of the office, Dr. Belen travels the world in search of adventure. He has recently been spotted bungy jumping in New Zealand, hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, and running with the bulls in Pamplona.

Michael McCracken, M.D. received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and his medical degree from Wayne State University. After an internship at Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Hospital, he completed an ophthalmology residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago and an oculoplastic surgery fellowship at the University of California San Diego.

Dr. McCracken is board certified in ophthalmology, and performs functional surgery of the eyelid, orbit, and lacrimal system. He also performs Botox® injections, collagen injections, Restylane® injections, chemical peels, laser resurfacing, and cosmetic surgery of the eyelids, eyebrows, and midface.

Dr. McCracken has published several articles, and has written textbook chapters on facial physiology, Botox®, and laser resurfacing. He has lectured on oculoplastic surgery and he teaches annually at the American Academy of Ophthalmology meeting. Dr. McCracken is also a preceptor for the ophthalmology interns at Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Hospital. He is a member of the Colorado Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, the Denver Medical Society, the Colorado Medical Society, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Medical Association.

KETTY C. LEE, O.D.

Dr. Ketty LeeDr. Ketty C. Lee is the Center Director of Colorado Laser Surgeons. Dr. Lee received her undergraduate degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California at Berkeley, and her Doctor of Optometry degree from Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. She completed a residency, an additional year of specialized training, in Ocular Disease, at Omni Eye Specialists in Denver and a fellowship in Refractive Surgery at TLC Laser Center.

While at Omni Eye Specialists, Dr. Lee received training in advanced diagnostic techniques and medical management of anterior and posterior segment eye disorders. She also received extensive training in Refractive Surgery where preoperative and postoperative management of Laser Vision Correction was emphasized.

After the fellowship, Dr. Lee has primarily focused on Laser Vision Correction serving the role of Clinical Director at TLC Laser Center for several years prior to being the Center Director at Colorado Laser Surgeons. Dr. Lee lectures mostly locally on various topics related to Laser Vision Correction. She has enjoyed being involved in many FDA studies that contributed to the approval of various Laser Vision Correction treatments.

She is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Colorado Optometric Association. She is also an Adjunct Professor affiliated with the University of Houston College of Optometry. She is fluent in Portuguese and Chinese and has good working knowledge of Spanish and French.

MIRIAH TEETER, M.D.
 

Dr. Miriah Teeter attended Cornell University in Ithaca, New York where he received his undergraduate degree in Biology, as well as earning Dean’s list status. He then moved to North Carolina and received his medical degree at the University of North Carolina, School of Medicine.  During medical school, Dr. Teeter became founding president of PACT (prevention in action), an organization that provides opportunities for medical student research and clinical experience.  He continued on to complete his internship at Deaconess Medical Center in Spokane, Washington, and his residency in ophthalmology at the University of North Carolina.  He completed his fellowship in retinal surgery at the University of British Columbia which is one of the busiest retinal departments in North America.

Throughout his studies, Dr. Teeter has volunteered his time to staff migrant worker health clinics and has been a volunteer builder with Habitat for Humanity from high school to present.

His personal interests include world travel, sailing, photography, windsurfing, skiing, computer design and construction, and world cuisine.

HOWARD AMIEL, M.D.

Dr. Howard Amiel, physician and surgeon specializing in cataract, corneal/anterior segment eye disorders, and refractive surgery, received his undergraduate education at the University of Iowa, and medical training at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. After completing his residency at the Brown Medical School, he joined the faculty and remained to teach and mentor medical students and Ophthalmology residents in the emergency room, clinics, and operating room. He completed two fellowships prior to coming to Omni Eye Specialists: one in Cataract and Refractive surgery with Dr. Paul Koch of Warwick, RI, and another in Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. He brings to Omni Eye Specialists extensive training in corneal transplantation techniques, LASIK, and specialty refractive intraocular lens. 

Dr. Amiel has received numerous academic and clinical awards throughout his educational career, including the Gloria Arndt Award, awarded “to the medical student who best demonstrates kindness, compassion, and altruism”. He has contributed to the field of corneal, cataract and refractive surgery with scientific publications, invited lectures, and a contribution to a textbook chapter on corneal transplantation. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the International Society of Refractive Surgery. 

When Dr. Amiel is not treating patients, he enjoys participating in outdoor activities such as mountain biking, snowboarding, and running.
